Board Experience

Served three years as treasurer for IAGP from 2009 to 2012 and 2021 to 2022.
Now, she is the President of the Board of IAGP; member of the Deliberative Council of the Brazilian Association of Scientific Editors (ABEC Brasil); member of the Scientific and Research Committee of the Brazilian Association of Studies in Medicine and Sexual Health (ABEMSS).

International Association for Group Psychotherapy and Group Processes (IAGP)

My history at the International Association of Group Psychotherapy and Group Processes (IAGP) began 20 years ago, since I joined the association! At that time, I started my participation in the Executive Board of Febrap. At the invitation of my friend José Fonseca, we began a successful partnership with IAGP, representing Brazilian Psychodrama, which culminated in the organization of the 16th IAGP International Congress in 2006 – an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange with colleagues from 45 countries and presentation of our Psychodrama to more than 1,000 participants. This congress provided visibility to the strength of Psychodrama and other group practices in South America. I was a member of the IAGP Board for nine years, initially as coordinator of the Scientific Program of Congress, then as coordinator of the Transcultural Section, treasurer and now President of the IAGP Executive. At the end of this more active participation period, I was awarded Fellow, in 2012. These were opportunities for personal and professional growth, participating in meetings and congresses, having contact with people from different cultures and theoretical approaches. After so many years, I recognize the importance of these experiences in my personal and professional growth, but the most precious thing was to make friends from all over the world.
Recently, I was elected IAGP President 2022-2025.

Brazilian Federation of Psychodrama (Febrap)

My history at Febrap began following my performance as faculty, training coordinator and general coordinator of the Psychodrama Department at Instituto Sedes Sapientiae (DPSedes). I initially participated in Febrap meetings, representing DPSedes until I was invited to the Administrative-Financial Board of the Federation in 1987. Then I was elected President (biennium: 1999-2000 and 2001-2002). In 2003, I presented Febrap’s proposal in Istanbul, Turkey, to host the 16th IAGP International Congress. On that occasion, I presented a poster produced as a final evaluation of Febrap’s 2001-2002 – ending my six years on the Executive Board –, expressing the diversity of group practices in Brazil. I started to act more actively in the IAGP, organizing the International Congress and then in different functions in the Board. In 2012, I received the honorable invitation to the role of editor of the Brazilian Journal of Psychodrama, official publication of Febrap, an activity that I perform until the present day. I am very grateful for the opportunities I had to follow very closely the evolution of Psychodrama and group practices in Brazil and abroad.
